01 · How we compared

One question, asked the same way of everyone.

What does five years cost, and who owns the website at the end of it? Every figure below is five years of each company’s own published pricing, collected in September 2026. Where a company publishes tiers, the range covers its cheapest and its most expensive.

We are in the table too. $33,500 is our build once at $3,500 plus sixty months of optional marketing at $500. Drop the marketing and our five-year figure is $3,500.

Five-year totals from published pricing, collected September 2026. Ranges reflect each company’s own tiers.

02 · What the money buys

The monthly fee is rent, not a payment plan.

A subscription site is licensed to you while you pay. Stop paying and the pages, the templates, and often the domain stay with the vendor, so a practice that leaves after four years starts again from an empty folder.

The template is the other cost. Subscription companies build on a shared theme, which is why practices in the same town often have the same site with different photographs, and why a page that ranks for one of them rarely ranks for the next.

We charge for the build once and hand over the domain, the design files, the code, and the content at launch. Marketing after that is a monthly service you can stop, not a licence you have to keep renewing.

03 · Choosing

What to ask before you sign anything.

Ask what happens to the website if you cancel, and ask for the answer in writing. Ask who holds the domain registration today and who holds it after launch.

Ask to see two sites the company built for practices your size, then look at them on a phone. Ask what the total is over five years, not what the monthly is.

If the answer to the ownership question is anything other than the practice, the fee is rent. That is the only line we are trying to draw here, and it is why Bite Sites charges once.

04 · What is included
